A college counselor isn’t just someone who helps with applications—it’s someone who students and parents see as a trusted guide throughout the high school journey. That means supporting students in their growth well before junior year, and being a calm, steady voice for families during what can be a stressful time.
My approach is both strategic and deeply student-centered. I meet students where they are—helping them clarify their goals, find their voice, and build confidence. At the same time, I guide families with transparency and care. Having worked across languages, time zones, and communication styles, I’ve learned how to build trust quickly, adapt with grace, and remain calm under pressure. Above all, I approach this work with integrity, clarity, and a deep belief in each student’s potential.
As a former admissions director at several selective U.S. universities, I bring over two decades of experience supporting students from across the U.S., China, Turkey, and beyond through high-stakes admissions processes. I’ve also worked in independent schools, international schools, and private advising firms, and I understand the nuances of different education systems, cultural contexts, and family expectations. Whether navigating U.S., UK, Canadian, or European admissions, I help students and families make informed decisions and move forward with purpose.
During the pandemic, I worked full-time in college counseling—entirely remotely—supporting students and families through one of the most uncertain and emotionally charged application cycles we’ve seen. It sharpened my skills in digital communication, increased my sensitivity to student stress and burnout, and pushed me to rethink how to build trust and connection without being in the same room.
Since then, I’ve become even more intentional in how I structure meetings, more flexible in how I deliver information, and more attuned to the emotional needs beneath the practical ones. The recalibration COVID provided has strengthened my belief that relationship-building is foundational to effective counseling, no matter the format, and it reconfirms my commitment to meeting students with empathy, clarity, and presence, whether online or in person.
